We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers or keyboard navigation.
What we do
We build this website to be accessible by default. Among other things, we aim to:
- use clear, semantic page structure and a logical heading order
- make the whole site usable with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline
- keep text and background colours at a readable contrast
- give meaningful images descriptive alternative text
- write in plain, clear language
Ongoing work
Accessibility is something we keep working on as we add content. Some older or third-party content may not yet meet every standard we aim for.
